COLOMBIA 5 CENTAVOS 1921 LAZARETO LEPER COLONY LOT 322
Copper-nickel 5 Centavos coin from Colombia that was minted in 1921.
This coin is an example of Leprosarium Coinage which was a special issue coin for use in the three government leper colonies of Agua de Dios, Cano de Lord, and Contratacion.
The obverse design of the coin features the word "LAZARETO" on a cross with circles at the quarters of the cross and the date below the cross .
The reverse design of the coin features the denomination within an open wreath.
This coin is listed as KM#L11 in Krause's Standard Catalog Of World Coins 1901-2000.
